Where is it from?
Kasto Myombe has been working with Tembo for 5 years since the company was established. He was previously a coffee agent, selling his coffee in the Mbozi district on Mbeya Rural. In 2017, in partnership with Tembo, Kasto started to manage a centralised washing station to have better control of the quality and consistency of his production.
Tembo lent him a Penagos Ecopulper for the season, and thanks to this he managed to produce speciality coffee for the first time. In turn, being able to improve his production to include speciality coffees, it allows Kasto to receive the best possible prices for his coffee from Tembo.
The premium from this lot will help him to invest in his farm and to provide for his wife and their four children. He is also planning to extend his business next year and buy more cherries from local producers, to process at the washing station. He has already started to work with farmers in the area, and he hopes to create a strong producers group in time for the 2018 season.
